How to soften water

The most effective way to solve the problems of hard water is by installing a water softener. The unit is installed by plumbing it 'in line' usually where the water enters the property.

Which type?

We recommend that you use an established company that will be able to advise you on your individual requirements. Not all water softeners operate in the same way and we recommend that the unit you chose is a 'meter control', preferably with an additional feature of a back up clock.

You will probably be asked a few questions, namely;

1. How many people in your household

2. In what part of the country do you live, and,

3. What type of plumbing system do you have e.g. conventional system (tanks in your roof), as against either a combination boiler or a pressurised/unvented system.
